Who We Are

Catholic Peace Ministry is a faith-based ecumenical peace organization that was founded in 1981 as part of the Des Moines Catholic Diocese. Since 1991 it has been independent of, and unaffiliated with, the Diocese. CPM today is guided by an ecumenical board of directors, which follows the peace/wisdom teachings of numerous faith traditions.

Over the years, the Catholic Peace Ministry has facilitated numerous marches in the name of peace and justice worldwide, hosted events to honor and remember those who have died at the hands of senseless mass atrocities, sponsored panel discussions to educate those in the Des Moines Community about peace and justice issues, and so much more!
